The development team (DEV) is in place!
We welcome Fraser Gorrie as our lead developer for the Jesus Metaverse app.
What is the latest app design?
Lisa Tao has been refining the design of the app prototype.
It is important to agree on the user experience (UX) of the user before moving into designing specific screens and other elements. So Lisa is mainly doing rough sketches. Artists like Lisa call these sketches “chicken scratches”.
You can appreciate the design and the sketches in this overview. Click to download the PDF.
In the software industry, interim versions of a software product are called Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). To go deeper, may I invite you to download the PDF, grab a cup of tea and watch this 12-min video presentation of MVP1?
What happens next?
Fraser and Gabriel will choose the technologies to use for the development of the app. The app is much more than a “website”, so there are many more technical decisions to make.
Then, we will take MVP1 and break it into smaller pieces, called “sprints.” At the end of each sprint we will have a working version of the app that we can test and also let real users test and comment about. We take the feedback, make the changes and go to the next sprint.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat to the next sprint, until MVP1 is ready.
In the months to come, we will share with you the specifics of this app development process.
We need your help
As you can imagine, this is a huge project but we have a team of enthusiastic Urantia students working on it. Lisa is creating the pages, functionality, and the look and feel of the Jesus Metaverse App. Fraser will make the app work on smart phones, tablets, and computers in both Apple and Android. This is our next fund raising challenge, but it will be the final major step to bring this project to completion.
We are estimating that we will need $60,000 for the app developers.
