The Fatherhood of God & Brotherhood of Man.
I once had an experience where this concept saved my life. I was in a state of trance after having participated in a sweat lodge atop a mystical mountain in Mexico, El Tepozteco. A force was driving me to jump off a cliff; it said that no harm would come to me and that I had to trust my faith. I was confused, but ready and willing to take that “leap of faith.” My cousin was at my side, and I believed that he was going to take that leap with me. There was doubt and confusion in my mind, but as I stretched out my arms, I touched and felt him. I remembered this concept and thought to myself, no true brother of mine would lead me into harm’s way. So I decided that I would only jump if my cousin jumped. Fortunately for me, he did not leap, and therefore neither did I; he saved my life. As I was coming out of the trance, I realized that the Fatherhood of God & Brotherhood of Man can be explained mathematically in this way; If I recognize you as my Brother, it means we both came from the same Father. Two brothers, One Father.
