THE GREAT COMMISSION
By Mark Kurtz

Jesus expressed his desire for believers to take his gospel into all the world. He used the “Go” commission many times as he urged people to believe his Father is a real and spiritual Father to all people. He asked people to have faith in him and his gospel, the gospel he intends for all people to hear and experience.

In 20 centuries, the result is a split Christian Church without doctrinal unity as varying interpretations found lodgment in different cultures. Paul’s gospel was about the risen Christ, understandable since so many believers missed Jesus and the fact Paul’s experience was different than believers who followed Jesus for many years. Jesus’ gospel was love and service. The believers’ use of the words king and kingdom caused political strife as people moved away from Jesus’ central gospel under Paul’s leadership.

In The Urantia Book Part IV, Paper 195, section 10 are these words:

“Christianity has indeed done a great service for this world, but what is now most needed is Jesus. The world needs to see Jesus living again on earth in the experience of spirit-born mortals who effectively reveal the Master to all men.” Also, “You must go forward from where you find yourselves.

The Center for Unity is a new Israeli not-for-profit corporation headed by visionary Gabriel Rymberg. The Center’s directors and volunteers are proposing and working on four projects to affirm the Great Commission:

  1. People in Israel are very interested in seeing a Jesus museum on the shores of Lake Galilee because Jesus was a Jew. They want the historic Jesus presented; not a Christian version.
  2. The Jesus Metaverse, an online resource to present extensive Jesus details just as he lived and taught the populace.
  3. Cinematic Jesus is a live-actor video project to show the Part IV The Urantia Book Jesus. The Center is working with an award-winning director and a state-of-the-art professional film production company. The production company is aware of and invigorated by the extensive new Jesus details. This will take a substantial investment by the Urantia community, but everything is in place to make this a reality. Consider how a video depicting the resurrection of Lazarus from his tomb could be inspiring. Consider the scene of the Roman Captain who commanded Simon to carry the crossbeam. Imagine our teenage children discovering the teenage Jesus or women learning that Jesus was their emancipation proclamation.

Consider the scene when Jesus announces a women’s corps as teachers.

Of all the daring things which Jesus did in connection with his earth career, the most amazing was his sudden announcement on the evening of January 16: “On the morrow we will set apart ten women for the ministering work of the kingdom.” (150:1.1)

Imagine many more possibilities! All details will be based on Part IV. The online portions and projects will not be restricted to only Jesus’ Jewish history as the Israelis desire for the museum at Capernaum.

Plans and arrangements for these projects are being formulated and arranged by the Center’s directors, led by Gabriel Rymberg. Volunteer specialty teams from many countries are writing scenes and curating details from The Urantia Book. The Israelis are eager for the museum to proceed for its historic value. People will see Jesus depicted where he taught along the shores of Lake Galilee where the Jesus Museum is proposed near Capernaum.

It is also interesting to note a boat was discovered a few years ago along the shores of Lake Galilee, which is suspected to be designed and built by Jesus. They call it the “Jesus Boat” since Urantia Book readers informed discoverers and officials that Jesus designed boats.

Jesus worked with Zebedee only a little more than one year, but during that time he created a new style of boat and established entirely new methods of boatmaking. By superior technique and greatly improved methods of steaming the boards, Jesus and Zebedee began to build boats of a very superior type, craft which were far more safe for sailing the lake than were the older types. For several years Zebedee had more work, turning out these new-style boats, than his small establishment could handle; in less than five years practically all the craft on the lake had been built in the shop of Zebedee at Capernaum. Jesus became well known to the Galilean fisherfolk as the designer of the new boats. (129:1.3)

A new not-for-profit corporation, Worldwide Ministry of Jesus, Inc. (WMOJ) in the United States, gathers funds to empower the museum and online projects. USA taxpayers can donate and enjoy tax deduction privileges while supporting The Center for Unity. WMOJ seeks donations and grants for this very important emphasis.

I invite you to review the online videos to learn more of these imaginative projects and purposes. Click these online resources: WMOJ.COM or Jesus Metaverse.

Let people see Jesus living again. Would you be interested in supporting this great effort?
