The Jesus Museum: Status Jan 2023

The Jesus Museum–Update
By Rick Lyon

On January 17, 2023, the Center for Unity team began meeting with our attorneys, and designers every two weeks rather than once a month.

The good news is that the previous discussion of a 25 year lease for a one-time payment of $1,000,000, at our proposed site, has been negotiated in our favor!

Our legal team is creating a “Memorandum of Understanding” (MOU) specifying what we agree to do and what the museum owner agrees to do. In this way we create a relationship that is mutually beneficial to both parties while breaking down the funding requirements into smaller bites.

This will speed up the creation of our museum as we can now begin working on design and development as soon as the MOU is completed. I also believe this indicates the level of desire of the museum owner and director to welcome our Jesus Museum into their facility.

Remember, the existing museum already has visitor traffic of 500,000 per year without us doing any promotion or advertising. While this project will require a significant financial investment from the Urantia community to bring it to completion, we are anticipating our immediate need to be $50,000 to take this project to the next level; one step at a time is a journey completed.

Steve Marble has completed a previous project he was involved with, and he has now actively joined our team.

We are excited about that!

What an awakening the world would experience if it could only see Jesus as he really lived on earth and know, firsthand, his life-giving teachings! Descriptive words of things beautiful cannot thrill like the sight thereof, neither can creedal words inspire men’s souls like the experience of knowing the presence of God. (195:9.8)
