Teachings From Jesus 5

We want to share another teaching from the Urantia Book.

This one was shared by Damian Matthew Hall

Do not become discouraged by the discovery that you are human. Human nature may tend toward evil, but it is not inherently sinful. Be not downcast by your failure wholly to forget some of your regrettable experiences. The mistakes which you fail to forget in time will be forgotten in eternity. Lighten your burdens of soul by speedily acquiring a long-distance view of your destiny, a universe expansion of your career. ~ The Urantia Book, (156:5.8)

This is a very comforting teaching…. it tells us that our nature is Divine.

The material world we live in is sometimes overpowering and may cause disillusion.  We may consider ourselves to be sinful or even evil, because of the errors we may have committed in the past.  Nevertheless these are just “hiccups” in our long journey to paradise, that can be overcome.  Time is a resource that we have in order to perfect ourselves, and this is why our errors are only temporary, if we correct our course.  We are born imperfect, since we are children of the universes of time and space.  We are given time to actualize into perfect beings (eventually).

This all depends on the decisions that are taken in our mind.  Our mind is a universe where the Thought Adjuster and Spirit of Truth reside and are always leading us to take the right decision.  In some cases, since we don’t have a parameter, we might err, and even sin.  Nevertheless we are given time to re-examine and re-evaluate our decisions so that they can be adjusted to a positive action.  Part of our mission in this life is to experience the world.  The way we receive information or situations is one part, and the other is the way we act or decide upon them.  In some cases we might have the best intentions, but our actions are not as perfect, and we fall into error or sin.  The key lies in living these results and conclude if they are in accordance with the Will of God, or if they’re set in error or sin.  The next step is to mend these decisions (if they are wrong) so that the future outcomes ARE in line with the Will of God.

So, do not be burdened by past errors or sin, we always have an opportunity to mend them, and learn from these experiences.  They in fact give us the parameters of action of where we need to be, and what we need to do.
